FAQ

Can my marble or natural stone be restored instead of replaced?

In many cases, yes. Marble, limestone, travertine, granite, onyx, terrazzo, and other natural stone surfaces can often be professionally restored rather than replaced. We remove scratches, etching, stains, dullness, chips, and minor cracks, often saving homeowners thousands of dollars while preserving the beauty and value of their original stone.

What types of natural stone do you restore?

We specialize in marble restoration, limestone restoration, travertine restoration, granite polishing, terrazzo restoration, onyx restoration, and other natural stone services. We restore countertops, floors, showers, vanities, staircases, and commercial stone surfaces throughout the Okanagan.

How much does natural stone restoration cost?

Every project is unique. The cost of natural stone restoration depends on the type of stone, its condition, the size of the area, and the services required. We provide free on-site evaluations throughout Kelowna, Lake Country, West Kelowna, Peachland, Summerland, and Penticton. A small travel fee may apply for locations outside our primary service area. Whenever possible, we restore rather than replace, helping our clients save money while preserving the beauty and value of their natural stone.

Can you remove scratches from marble?

Yes. Professional diamond honing removes surface scratches while preserving the integrity of the stone. Depending on your preferred finish, we can restore your marble to a polished, honed, or satin appearance.

Can you remove etching from marble?

Absolutely. Etching is caused by acidic substances such as lemon juice, vinegar, wine, and many household cleaners. Unlike stains, etching permanently changes the stone's surface and must be professionally restored through honing and polishing.

Can stains be removed from natural stone?

Many stains can be significantly reduced or completely removed. Success depends on the type of stain, the type of stone, how deeply the stain has penetrated, and how long it has been present.

Can my marble, limestone, onyx, or granite countertop be restored like new?

In many cases, yes. Professional countertop restoration can remove scratches, etching, water marks, dullness, stains, chips, and minor surface damage from marble, limestone, onyx, granite, and other natural stone.

Using specialized diamond restoration techniques, we can often restore your countertop to a beautiful, like-new finish at a fraction of the cost of replacement.

Every countertop is unique, so we'll assess its condition and recommend the most effective restoration solution. If restoration isn't the best option, we'll tell you honestly.

Do marble and other natural stone countertops need to be sealed?

Most marble, limestone, travertine, and other porous natural stones benefit from professional sealing to help resist staining. However, sealers do not prevent etching from acidic products. We recommend the most appropriate protection based on your specific stone.

How often should natural stone be sealed?

Most natural stone surfaces should be professionally evaluated every 2–5 years. More porous stones may require sealing more frequently, while high-use kitchens, showers, and commercial floors often benefit from regular maintenance to preserve their beauty and protection.

What is the difference between stone cleaning and stone restoration?

Cleaning removes dirt and surface contaminants from stone and grout. Natural stone restoration repairs scratches, etching, stains, dullness, and wear using professional diamond restoration techniques that restore the stone's original beauty.

How long does stone restoration take?

Many countertop restoration projects can be completed in one day. Larger marble floor restoration or commercial projects may require several days depending on the size and condition of the stone.

Does natural stone restoration create a lot of dust?

No. Most natural stone restoration and refinishing processes are performed using wet diamond restoration techniques, which significantly minimize dust. Before any work begins, we carefully protect surrounding cabinets, walls, furniture, and adjacent areas with professional masking materials, including tape and protective poly sheeting. Once the restoration is complete, we thoroughly clean the work area, leaving your home or business as clean as it was when we arrived.

Can chipped or cracked stone be repaired?

Yes. Many chips, edge damage, and minor cracks can be professionally repaired to significantly improve both the appearance and durability of your natural stone. We carefully colour-match the repair material to blend as closely as possible with the surrounding stone. However, because every piece of natural stone is unique—with its own colour variations, veining, and mineral patterns—an invisible repair cannot always be guaranteed. During your evaluation, we'll explain what results you can realistically expect and recommend the best solution for your stone.

Is stone restoration worth it?

Absolutely. In many cases, restoration costs only a fraction of replacement while dramatically improving the appearance, longevity, and value of your natural stone.
